This is my cardboard chair. My directed audience is for the younger children and all-aged-Hello Kitty fanatics like myself. I wanted to have fun with this project by making it bright, colorful, and fun. With this idea, I decided to use the different views to make different scenes to accompany the short attention span kids have. I also decided to add black borders to add a nice touch and also to go along with the outline of Hello Kitty's head. The insides of the chair--the support that it--consists of a multitude of triangles supporting each other and the outside panels.
The process was simple as that it was just cutting triangles and squares. However, since in the process of maximizing the use of every piece of cardboard that I had, the supporting triangles on the right and left panels were not the same size. This caused problems as one side was more supported than the other, causing the weight on the chair to shift to one side and cause that side's panel to give. I ended up adding several triangles to balance out the support. It helped a bit, but having equality would have been better. I think that if I had to do this project again, I would just use the slot method.
